Crew Review of the "Center for Performing Arts", featuring "Annie" at the Tarkington

***Crew Review***

"Mommy, are we in New York City?" asked five-year-old Regan as she and her Mom pulled in to the Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Carmel.  They arrived at the Tarkington theater to see the classic play "Annie", performed by the Carmel Repertory Theater.

Parking is free and close by in the attached parking garage for safe and easy access.  Tickets were easily ordered online with pricing from $17-25, and were held in will-call at the ticket window.  The duo grabbed their seats and suggests sitting stage left or stage right when attending with younger children, but in general there's not a bad seat in the house!

The show started and little Regan was engaged the entire time.  However, it's a long, three-hour show, so use your best judgment when bringing your children for these performances.  Specifically, the "Annie" story line is appropriate for mature audiences as well, and may not be suitable for very young viewers.  In fact, on this review, we noticed that over half the audience were people there on date night or without kids!

Intermission brought a nice chance to stretch the legs and enjoy some delish cookies, trail mix, and fancy beverages for purchase at a reasonable price from the refreshment area.  Many children approached the stage to get an up close look and feel of the orchestra pit and stage itself!

At the show's end, the guests had an opportunity to meet the characters in their well-appointed costumes and get a hand shake or short conversation with their favorite cast member, too!  Smiles abound!

According to Mom Rachel, she says, "I'll definitely go back and I'm planning our next show soon!"  As far as young Regan, she says, "That was the best thing I have ever done."  Sounds like time and money well spent for sure!  Memories made....priceless!

We welcome Rachel and her crew to the "For You and the Crew" Crew Review team!
The more crews in the area, the more reviews we can get back to you!
